Setup made simpler
App-based configuration supports electronic commissioning, travel-limit setup, diagnostics and settings. Correct mechanical installation is still essential.
Battery-driven reliability
The 24V DC system uses two 12V 3.4Ah batteries. Published standby performance is up to 90 operations, depending on the door, load, outage duration and battery condition.
Smooth, low-noise operation
The operator’s mechanical design supports quiet door movement. Correct door balance, sound rollers and a suitable rail help the full system operate smoothly.
Obstruction detection
Built-in collision sensing and an adjustable obstruction response help the motor react to resistance. Safety devices, correct commissioning and routine checks remain important.
Adjustable travel speed
The SDO4 SMART supports independently adjustable opening and closing speeds on compatible tip-up installations. The selected settings must suit the door and its safe operation.
Photon SMART compatibility
Compatible Photon SMART wireless beams simplify adding safety coverage. Beams are optional for general operation but required for autoclose; the fitted arrangement must follow the manual.
Programmable inputs and outputs
Configurable IOs allow the controller to work with supported accessories and installation requirements. Compatibility and wiring should be confirmed during setup.
Manage compatible controls in the app
App-based remote management helps a technician configure supported transmitters and their assigned functions. The onboard receiver stores up to 20 four-button transmitters.
Tamper and door monitoring
Security functions include tamper detection and intelligent door-status monitoring. Enabled functions and any accessories needed should be explained during handover.

The T10 and T12 share the SDO4 SMART feature set, with different motor power and force ratings. Both support compatible sectional and tip-up doors, subject to the correct rail and installation requirements.
Door area alone does not determine suitability. Width, weight, balance, hardware condition and mounting clearances must also be checked.

The motor should move a correctly balanced door. A higher-rated operator is not a repair for worn springs, stiff tracks or damaged hardware.

Operating conditions: Up to 90 standby operations depends on door size, weight, height, outage duration and battery condition; it is not a guaranteed cycle count. Travel speed varies with load. ¹ Safety beams are recommended and are required when autoclose is enabled. Solar charging requires a suitable manufacturer-approved arrangement.

SDO4 SMART FAULT FINDING / GAUTENG
When access becomes unreliable.Find the cause first.
A door fault and a motor fault can produce similar symptoms. Tell us what happens, which lights appear and whether the door is sectional or tip-up.
No response, or poor backup
Battery condition, charging, mains supply, wiring or controller faults may need investigation. Confirm the fitted battery specifications before replacing them.

The SDO4 SMART carries CENTURION’s 36-month product warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and exclusions. Keep the invoice and product details so any warranty enquiry can be assessed correctly.
The manufacturer’s manual specifies a separate six-month battery warranty and carry-in warranty handling. Installation workmanship, accessories and other components may have separate terms; confirm these with your quotation.

Ask about your own door ↗What is the difference between the original SDO4 and the SDO4 SMART?
The original SDO4 is the older operator with its own controls, features and specifications. The SDO4 SMART adds smartphone integration, app-based commissioning, app-based remote management and SMART safety and security features. Use the manual for the exact model.
Should I choose the SMART T10 or T12?
The T10 has an 80W rated motor, a 12 m² maximum door area, 40kgf maximum push/pull force and a 1000N lifting/holding rating. The T12 is rated at 100W, 15 m², 50kgf and 1200N. A technician must also assess door type, balance, weight, width and rail suitability.
Does the SDO4 SMART work during load shedding?
Its 24V DC drive system is supplied by two 12V 3.4Ah batteries. Published standby performance is up to 90 operations, depending on door size, weight, height, power-failure duration and battery condition. This is not a guaranteed number of cycles.
Can I manage the motor with my phone?
Compatible CENTURION apps support commissioning and supported control or management functions. Connection methods, available features and permissions depend on the installation and app. Smartphone integration should not be taken to mean that internet control from anywhere is included without any additional equipment.
Are safety beams required?
The operator supports compatible infrared safety beams, including Photon SMART wireless beams. Beams are recommended for additional protection and required before enabling autoclose. The installation must follow the model’s safety requirements.
Is speed adjustable on every door type?
The published adjustable opening and closing speed feature applies to tip-up doors. Do not assume that the same speed adjustment is available for a sectional-door installation. Maximum travel speed also varies with load.
What does the three-year warranty cover?
CENTURION’s manual states a 36-month product warranty subject to its terms and applicable exclusions. Batteries have a separate six-month warranty in that manual. Warranty claims are handled on a carry-in basis; confirm the terms for your purchase and retain proof of purchase.
