A good way of knowing that you have not bought back your own parts is to make a marking on them.
What we have seen in the garage door industry is garage door companies taking clients parts refurbishing them and putting them back again, and then charging for those same parts.
So basically you are buying back your own parts!
The most common one we see is painted garage door springs and electronic parts, to ensure that you are getting new parts make sure you make a clear marking on them that you can identify that it’s yours.

We have been to many clients that say they have just changed the garage door springs, but apon inspection we can see the garage door company they used has sprayed the springs and put them up again without the client knowing.
Most of the time on the electronic side of the garage door motors only the batteries have to be replaced, and then your garage door company tries to add costs by saying it’s the pc board. As well they will then remove the pc board clean it up and put it right back at a charge we have seen this as well because of the dates on the pc board, this is why you should always mark your parts and preferably before you get a quote from any garage door company.
